About Me
Hey there, I'm An Phan. I come from a poor village in Vietnam where folks struggle with money, happiness, and security.
Three things fire me up: decentralization, growing wealth, and the internet economy.
I'm a mix of all three: a software engineer out to tackle financial issues by building helpful apps, teaching at the Sunseeder Project, and creating online communities.
My goal?
- Help people build wealth
- Teach crucial skills schools don't cover
- Make Bitcoin and Lightning Network more practical in developing countries
Experience
- Magic Magnet: an extension to automate marketing for one-person businesses, powered by AI.
- Co-Founded Sunseeder : a Vietnam ed-tech platform teaching crucial skills schools don't cover.
- Created Ham Hoc Hoi Community.
- Started Giau Cham, Nghi Huu Nhanh Community.
- Fell in love with the POS system at Pepper, realizing software is magic. Closed Pepper to pursue a software engineering career.
- Successfully ran Pepper: a fast food restaurant in Da Nang City with my best buds to recover financially after the failed Bamboo project. It helped me learn a lot of business lessons.
- Bamboo: aimed to be Da Nang's recycling hub, but underestimated funding and scaling. It flopped.
- Traveled Vietnam by bicycle, living like a homeless person.
- Dropped out of university, despite being a top 10 student. Saw no revolution in architecture industry's future. Found it boring, and the people had huge egos. Forever grateful to a teacher who pointed me to books and the Sai Gon city library for self-study. That moment changed my life.
- Studied architecture at Van Lang University.
- An average student in high school.
