About Me
Hey there, I'm An Phan. I come from a poor village in Vietnam where people struggle with money, happiness, and security.
Three things fire me up: decentralization, building wealth, and the internet economy.
I'm a blend of all three: a software engineer working to tackle financial issues by building helpful applications, teaching at the Sunseeder Project, and creating online communities.
My goals are to:
- Help people build wealth
- Teach crucial skills that schools don't cover
- Make Bitcoin and the Lightning Network more practical in developing countries
Experience
- Magic Magnet: Created an extension to automate marketing for one-person businesses, powered by AI.
- Co-Founded Sunseeder : A Vietnamese ed-tech platform teaching crucial skills that schools don't cover.
- Created Ham Hoc Hoi Community.
- Started Giau Cham, Nghi Huu Nhanh Community.
- Fell in love with the POS system at Pepper, realizing that software is magic. I closed Pepper to pursue a software engineering career.
- Successfully ran Pepper: a fast food restaurant in Da Nang City with my best friends to recover financially after the failed Bamboo project. It helped me learn many valuable business lessons.
- Bamboo: An initiative that aimed to be Da Nang's recycling hub, but we underestimated the funding and scaling requirements. It ultimately failed.
- Traveled across Vietnam by bicycle, experiencing life without permanent shelter.
- Dropped out of university despite being a top-10 student. I saw no promising future in the architecture industry and found it boring, with many people having huge egos. I am forever grateful to a teacher who directed me to books and the Sai Gon city library for self-study. That moment changed my life.
- Studied architecture at Van Lang University.
- Was an average student in high school.
